Life and stuff

Ugh, I'm sick of seeing all that text in my profile, and there is no way I'll ever get around to finishing it anyway, so time for a new post :)

So I'm back at university, and indeed have been for a full month now. Life is going pretty well, but being a final year student (studying biology) I have absolutely no free time whatsoever. Which would be why I'm not about on NG too much these days :(. I do read through a few threads from time to time though, so don't think I'm away completely, I'm watching you...

If that wasn't enough of a drain on my time I'm also playing water polo for the university again, my second season in the team. We've got off to a good start with a win last week, so the season is looking up. Training is most nights of the week though, so not as much time for consumption of alcoholic beverages as I would like! (note, no fines for me there- check out 'gentleman's consumption laws' if confused)

And to top it all off I'm seeing a young lady from near Inverness in Scotland :) (though she is English originally, she made it quite clear I should point that out...). The distance is a pain admittedly, but that means when we do see each other it is all the better. Plus it only costs £20 to fly from Inverness to Bristol, bargain!

Which all adds up to no NG time, but then that is hardly the end of the world. I'll be around every now and again :)

You make a good point, but then I think destroying the entire universe would probably be frowned upon by a lot of people. Especially if you go blabbing to them! :P

Oo Biology student eh? Well i'm thinking of a Chemistry\Bigology\Geographer student. Sound's hard eh? Anywayz look's like life going great for you, you lucky person you >.<. Oh and thanks again for the advice on the world's favorite and best sport: Soccer. One of these day's i got to visit England, though i do miss Brazil. Ah well, hope you succeed in your life dream(Hopefully).

Yeah, life has been treating me well recently :). Thanks for the kind words! Good luck with all those subjects, I guess things work a bit differently in the States/Brazil as the majority of degrees in the UK are single subjects only. What you are doing sounds a lot like Natural Science, which my sister is studying at the moment.

And should you ever have questions about the beautiful game I am quite possibly the person to ask, I've been a huge fan for over 15 years now and seem to have a near Encyclopedia of football knowledge stashed away in my head (at least people say I do anyway!).

Everyone has their ups and downs, you're just having a bad spell at the moment. I was in a pretty miserable place myself this time last year, but things have turned around a bit since then. Just got to try and remain positive, things will get better eventually.

She's pretty awesome thanks, went back up to Inverness this morning. The last week and a half has been fantastic though, and it certainly won't be long until we're together again. Unfortunately due to her full time work, and my full time schedule at university we can't see each other as much as we would like, but holidays soon... =D

Thanks! Not my favourite level to be honest, but from now on every level is awesome in my mind! Plus I'm very nearly at level 30, which once upon a time was the dream of every user on here =D.

And it's Christmas holidays time!!!! YAY! Back at my parents for much of the next three weeks, though heading up to Inverness for New Year. Love not having any work to do at last!

I know this sounds a dumb question, by why does it take so long to get better ranks? .I have been stuck with private first class for ages, i guess i dont vote enough.

It just takes a great deal of patience, nothing more, nothing less. I've been on the site over 3 years now, and been voting in the flash portal for the vast majority of that time. Some days it is only 5-10 submissions (enough for my EXP), others it can be over 100 (yes, there was a period that I had absolutely no life)

It can be an issue of motivation (after all B/P ranks mean nothing in the real world), in which case just take it little steps at a time/aim for particular people. As you are now in the Barracks you'll find your pace increase due to the competitive spirit present there.

Also watch out for the big NG days (Clock Day, Pico Day etc)- a huge number of points can be swept up on those days.

Just keep at it- you'll get there eventually.
