You know, there's something interesting I noticed...

Those teachers of mine, who have a facebook account, are lazy bastards and seem to have a seriously stupid sense for justice, humour and have generally a stupid charakter.

Those teachers of mine, who have a newgrounds account, are damn fine in many ways.

And those teachers, who even never heard of both newgrounds and facebook, are mostly the rather higher aged - they're friendly but ... let's say ... I would not trust them if they would have to judge if something was fair or unfair.

Currently I have no teacher with both a facebook and a newgrounds account (yes, I'm asking them things like that).

Cool note, isn't it.

An interesting thing to ask your teachers, and probably the patterns reflect more on age and background than the use of the website itself (as I had both long before I ever considered becoming a teacher). Either way I will let it be down to my students to see if being on Newgrounds makes me a good teacher or not!

cool

i've thought of becoming a professor one day after i got my phd.
i'll probably never become a math teacher in secondary school because well, i don't want to chase after students for homework and deal with bullying cases, and i want a more demanding career.
:-(

There is certainly an element of chasing after students and 'baby-sitting' at times, but I'd suggest it is one of the most challenging careers around. Certainly I devote a vast quantity of time to my job, and I feel like every day I am learning something new and getting better at it- hopefully that will continue for as long as I choose to be a teacher.

Where as being a professor at a university or college (something I had a go at before doing this) is a relatively easy job- sure the content is more difficult, but the actual day to day job is much easier and less pressured.
